Boost Your Profits With These Ten Internet Marketing Tips

Internet marketing is an amazing profession or even moonlight second income because it allows anyone to create a successful business as long as they are willing to put in the effort.  Here are a few random ideas that can help you figure out where to put your energy into your business so that you can grow it quickly.

– Is the content on your site worth looking at?  Keeping your site fresh and updated is as important as driving new traffic to the site.  Many times you will be attracting those who have been drawn to your site previously.  Are they going to see the same old thing each time they visit the site?  Keep the content current and you will keep sales volume up.

– Keep the search engines happy.  Fresh content will help you do that.  So will some basic SEO for your blog or web site.  You don’t have to go overboard here … but it is a good idea to follow some basic SEO practices that you can find on this site (search “SEO”).

– Become a regular contributor to blogs and forums in your business niche or specialty.  These forums and blog sites are visited by people who will want to check out your site if you give them reason. Participate in discussions and postings. Build up a network of people who know you and your business online.  If they find your information valuable, they will even refer other people to it as well.

– Combine Internet marketing techniques with physical marketing techniques for maximum success.  For example, you can mail flyers with information to customers that then instruct them to visit your website if they want to see more.  This gives your customers a tangible connection to your business while simultaneously driving targeted traffic to your website.

– Domain names can influence where your site is ranked within the search engines.  Search engines pay attention to the authority of the domain name.  Try to get incoming links from other sites of authority in your niche.  IMO, it is best to use a domain name that is relevant and descriptive of your business niche or purpose.  I personally believe that expired domains are no longer valuable as they once were.  Google knows when a domain changes ownership and when it is no longer relevant to your new site.  What value is there in having incoming links from an old expired domain that are not relevant to your new site?

– Try to limit the amount of text that you have on your website when you are promoting a product.  Verbosity is something that can draw away potential customers, as very few people want to read a long description. Keep things short and to the point for the maximum profit impact.  One possible exception to the rule is a long form sales letter if you have found that to convert well.  Otherwise, try to keep you written text narrative brief but relevant and on-topic.

– The first key to mastering Internet marketing is determining what the goal of your website should be. Obviously, your ultimate goal is to bring more customers your way, but how are you going to accomplish that? Pick one specific goal to begin your website with in the beginning. Then after some time and history, you can start to build other additional goals for the site.

– Of course, hiring professionals to do your website narrative and product descriptions is an excellent idea if you are not good at copywriting and if you can afford to outsource this task. Consider writing emails and newsletters as well as product announcements yourself, if at all possible.  Your audience needs to get to know and like you, even if you make some mistakes here and there.  You want to give your business some “persona” or some of you own personality so you become believable and a trusted “human” authority (rather than a nameless and faceless business owner).

– Stay current and up-to-date in your knowledge of the niche marketplace and in your marketing strategies.  Keep current on the latest news and technology changes in your space.  Continue to be a “student” of your niche so that you are able to discuss and apprise your audience of all the latest happenings.  This alone will do wonders for your authority and trust as a business leader.

– If there’s one thing that will set your business apart from all your competitors . . . it’s personal and friendly customer service care on an individual basis for your subscribers and prospects.  Go out of your way to be helpful and accommodating.
