1.8 Billion Images Every Day

Take a walk down memory lane.

25 years ago today . . .

On July 18, 1992, the first photo was uploaded to the Internet. It’s been 25 years – WOW!

Here’s a sobering thought –

In 2014, according to Mary Meeker’s annual Internet Trends report, people uploaded an average of 1.8 billion digital images every single day. ( Published Nov 2, 2015)  In 2017 it’s a good guess that the number is still increasing rapidly.

1.8 billion images a day from all over the globe (and surely that number is growing daily)!

Here are two marketing takeaways for today:

1-  The Internet has a near-perfect memory – make sure the writing and images you post online are not going to come back to haunt you someday!

2-  What are the chances that your upload is going to be seen by your prospects/customers? At 1.8 billion images added online daily . . . you’d better be sure that your uploads are targeted to the people that care about them. “Build it and they will come” just isn’t a good marketing strategy!

Have a wonderful day all,
